Description
Step into a new chapter of Indonesian coffee with Indonesia Kamala Batukaang Lot #01, a vibrant and experimental specialty coffee developed in collaboration with Bright Java. Grown in Tosoro Village, Merbabu—Central Java’s highlands reaching up to 1600 masl—these single origin coffee beans are a reflection of innovation and tradition coming together.
"Kamala" translates to "lotus" and "pale red" in Sanskrit, reflecting the delicate yet intense flavors that characterize this lot. The cherries undergo anaerobic fermentation in closed tanks, then are dried slowly for 6–8 weeks due to the region’s cool, cloudy climate. This extended drying helps build depth and nuance in every bean.
Expect flavor notes of hibiscus, cacao nibs, cranberry juice, and brown sugar, with a juicy-syrupy body and vibrant acidity that shines in both filter and espresso extractions.
Kamala represents the future of Indonesian coffee—bold, experimental, and unmistakably unique.
